3 established sites with pit toilets, and a field big enough for 4 or 5 rigs, all creekside
Not worth the 5 mile drive in -the 1st spot which is hugging the pit toilet there is only room for 1 RV. Continues down a bit, narrow, winding dirt road to another pit toilet with 3 spots-any other area was just uneven open field. So glad we didn’t run into anyone head on-absolutely no room.
Better to go to either Silver Creek East or West.
Very nice couple of spots but it was wayyyy too hot to stay at in the middle of July. We are planning on being able to chill in the creek but it was super muddy and covered in seaweed/algae. To higher elevation we go!
I camped at the northernmost site which is one spot with a pit toilet, picnic table, and excellent cell service. Got a whole day of work done with no interruptions. Great stargazing at night as well!
What more can a guy ask for? Bathroom. Cell signal. River. 5 stars in my book. Super clean area too, cleanest site ive ever been to. No trash anywhere! (How awesome is that?!) stream is full of life, fox moths scattered alone the river edge, tadpools swimming upstream. Theres a nice little cow trail past the gate on the NE side that takes parallel to river. A nice solitude stroll watching the sun set.
Saw two different camping areas with pit toilets. The more northern one is small can only fit one partie but the other is larger and can fit more. There is also a small pull off that can fit a smaller rig between the two established pads just make sure to leave space for fishers to park! Marmots everywhere.
Nice stream and beautiful sunset. Vault toilets at north and south ends. Multiple sites to camp up and down the service road (good condition). Full bars and LTE on Verizon.
Great free place to stay. Arrived at 4 pm on a Saturday in June to 4 other groups there. Plenty of room for a couple other tent campers like myself or 1-2 more RVs. Beautiful starry sky, little to no man made noise (a couple cars drove by), and you can wade in the stream. Only downside was it was quite windy, though I don’t know if I was just there on an unlucky weekend. Had great Verizon cell reception. All around a great free place to camp!
Beautiful quiet and some lovely camper left us wood in the fire pit and we enjoyed a spontaneous campfire
Beautiful and quiet place, with the creek a few steps away. Only a few spots available. Pit toilets. Lots of flies (visited in September).
We came here because it says that its empty and quiet on freeroam, but we didnt anticipate how crazy fishing season is every lot was full and we had to go find some blm land off to the side just so we could sleep for the night.
Great spot, several camping sights off of the dirt road. Make sure not to enter where it says 'do not enter'; that's where the 'directions' took me. Turn in where it says 'public access'. The exact coordinates of the place we were at are: 43.25043, -113.99639 But also going south few hundred feet from this spot along 'Cutoff Rd' towards 26, there is another bigger spot for several campers, might want to try that. Enjoy!
Loved this place. The established sites were full when we got here so we stayed in the field. Had the field to ourselves. Went to town to restock and scored one of the established sites when we got back. The dog swims in the creek every day. We fall asleep to the sounds of the creek every night. In warmer weather, there are some 6-10’ deep spots you could swim in. Put toilets are pristine. No electric, no water.
