A Lake Access site run by the South Dakota Department of Fish & Game. Free camping, no hookups. Maximum stay of 7 days
What a great spot! It's beautiful and absolutely quiet (except for the wind in the night that shook the camper and lasted hours😁) There were about 5 other campers and none of us ran our generators. The site and toilet were clean.
Quiet, with 2 other sets of tent campers.
Riverside at the boat ramp. Pit toilet and dumpster. Lots of campers and boat ramp traffic. Washboard road in.
Pulled in late with family. Nice spot. We felt safe. Only exception was that a man approached me and my daughter asking to pet our dog - at midnight. Not a considerate move. That was a bit creeper feeling. Otherwise, beautiful spot.
We stopped here one night when traveling I-90. We got in late and there where already a half dozen other vehicles in the area. They appear to have four fire rings and four picnic tables. There is also a vault toilet. One of the fire pits was full of old beer cans and it could use a cleaning but for free this was a great stop.
Stayed one night on a Monday. Shared the lot with 3 bigger rigs and a few car and tent campers. Plenty of space for everyone. Very peaceful and beautiful views.
Was headed West on I-90. This is a nice free spot not too far from the freeway. A couple miles of washboard gravel road makes for slow going approach to the site. We were in a hurry West, just stayed one night.
Nice views, quiet and peaceful.
Pretty good for a night or too. Beautiful view
There were four other RVs camped here when I arrived (Sunday, August 16, 2020). But still room for maybe a few more RVs. It's just a large dirt parking lot. There are picnic tables, fire rings, a pit toilet, trash dumpster, and fish cleaning station. Even though it's run by the South Dakota Department of Fish & Game, there is signage from the Army Corps of Engineers here also.
The access road into here includes about 2 miles of hard packed dirt and gravel. Much of it is fine, but there are several washboarded areas, and one small place with heavy dips and ruts. Overall, just about any vehicle or RV can get in here.
Verizon 4G came in at 2 bars for me.
Stayed one night, was able to get a spot with a picnic table and fire ring; very few spots with tables.
There was a little trash so I picked it all up and now it's pristine! I would highly recommend this location. The only issue I had were 2 local hillbillies fighting amongst themselves about who lost the keys to their car late one night.
Pretty views one vault toilet. Fairly crowded for a thursday night but it was summer. Killer horseflys, ouch! Didnt go in the water, but it looks nice.
Large gravel lot near the river with a latrine, picnic tables, fire rings and a dumpster. Peaceful nature setting that is accessible by all vehicles.
Nice Boondocking on the Missouri River. There are picnic tables, fire pits, one public bathroom/toilet (did not visit), and a boat ramp. The beach had some dead fish wash up, but the site and overall experience was good. Would come back again.
