Creedmore Lakes is a series of three small lakes located off of Forest Service Road 180.C. Dispersed camping is allowed in this area, but not within 100 feet of the lakeshore. For more information, see CLRD Dispersed Camping Rules
I left Denver and took the 3 hour drive up. I passed through Fort Collins and then into rural Larimer Country. I'm not sure if this way in was part of the problem but (1) one of the ways in was permanently blocked off and and you could see no one has traveled that road for a while. (2) Google rerouted me, but when I got within .8 miles of the spot, I came across a NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES sign inside the national forest. I camped at West Lake instead. It wasn't free, but it was a beautiful spot.
Two lakes in a beautiful valley of granite. Established walking paths with walk-in dispersed camping. Serviced by a single parking lot. I saw a bit of fishing and stand up paddle board happening. Plenty of campers were there.
One of Colorado's hidden gems...not too much further out than the much more busy & crowded Red Feather Lakes. It is remote, with dispersed camping scattered all along the lakes.
