No complaints

It happened to be 113F in mid June, so that's that. Really not a bad place. Mgr came over and I signed up. He's in a RV and older pickup w/camper. Very nice man. You can stay a week. There's a Chevron and General Patton Museum near by. There appears to be restaurants and at least a coffee place also. Should be enough to do around here.

Great overnight spot

Nearly level lots, some fireplaces or you can build yours. Paul, the manager is helpful and nice. You got a gas station at walking distance fort anything you need, firewood, whatsoever. It's a great spot to spend the night for free! The highway is rumbling close by, but it only makes you sleep, unless some annoying Harley group passes by. I had good time. Enjoy. And clean up you sh*t!

What a spot!

I was pleasantly surprised by this site. First off it is a free site with a camp host. The host was very nice when I was there. They do have you sign in with your name, vehicle type, number in your group etc. The sites were level and there were a number of sites open every night I was there (3). You can stay up to seven days. This site sits behind a museum and you can see some cool stuff from that. There is also a gas station/restaurant within walking distance.

Level site, beautiful views

Friendly camp manager, wasn't too busy, plenty of space for multiple trailets but only saw one reserved for 40' rigs. Was able to make uturn with our big rig within the camp. Only 10ish minutes to Joshua Tree national park. Must stay.

Lovely town!

This tiny town is amazing! Lovely free campsite behind the Patton museum. A quick walk to the post office, gas station market, antique store/gift shop, and cafe/gift shop.

Good and friendly folks!

If you stay to long, you'll have trouble leaving ;) You can hear the interstate. Usually that bothers me, but here it didn't.

Hidden boondocking close to amenities

This is a boondocking area created by the owners of Chiriaco Summit to give RVers a place to stay while they visit the General George S. Patton Museum. It's completely free to stay, but with no hookups at all. There is no RV dump station that I could see, though I may be wrong. Otherwise the closest RV dump is at Cottonwood Springs Campground in Joshua Tree National Park about 7 miles away. There is a 7 day limit here within a 30 day period. When I visited here in October there was no one here except for the camp host. Looks like about 20-25 spaces, all large enough to hold up to 40 foot trailers or less. There is one site set aside for 40+ foot rigs. Fuel and propane at the Chevron station. Full service cafe and gift shop too.
